How I did it: You can visit http://decodeniquo.blogspot.com to see for yourself what I'm talking about. I am not finished with this goal in fact, I 'll keep trying to inspire and get inspired. But I'm going to mark it as done, since I have 145 followers on my do-it-yourself blog now and feedback tells me I'm achieving my aim of inspiring people. In March this year I started a blog. My passion is MacGyver-ism! I love doing things myself! I sometimes con… Read how I did it…
How I did it: The association I'm working in publishes a periodical and they were short an article this month. They knew I write - though in a completely different area of study - and asked me - no, more like made me - write one. I worked day and night for a week and wrote an article and it got published in the periodical... Normally people who write for the periodical get paid, but since I am already a worker I didn't *sigh... … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I did try to do it before with blogger, but I wasn't too keen and gave it up after one post. I had no followers except for a friend of mine and I was not under the most motivational circumstances. Nevertheless, I decided to give it another go, took the plunge and got an account from blogger. I have a faux name and a fake e-mail address and all so that I can write about whatever or, rather, whomever I want and not get into trouble. That in… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had to find something to wear for my friend's bachelorette party and two nights before I started to try on every possible outfit but nothing seemed to satisfy me. So rather impulsively I decided to go for it.. I already had the fabric, a grey taffeta with velvet damask patterns on the hemline (although not quite the same color, the feeling is similar..) So I found a pattern which I could manipulate a bit, got to sewing (which I have onl… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I used the classic Fendi monogram pillows as an inspiration. Seeing that my own name had only one letter which differs from Fendi's letters I only changed that one letter and with this little alteration I cut out the letters from satin and sew them on faux fur like appliques. Then I used these pieces to sew the pillows and embellished with clear swarovski crystals and a cord in a matching color and voila! Yet I had it with the faux fur du… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had been planning to go for a makeover concerning my bedstead but the one thing that made me most uncomfortable was the headboard with its inconvenient height (which finished right where my nape touches) and carving that felt like I was leaning my head on sharp pebbles!!So I figured I would have a bigger panel of plywood cut and positioned it between the bed and the old headboard. Then I covered them both with layers of thin foam severa… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I came across with a picture of it online and being a born-sailor and all, my attention was immediately roused. : ) There are many instructions online as to how to make one, as I provide a link of but one below. So I took out my ropes, chose one which would look the most authentic and started criss crossing and it was not more than 15 minutes before my bracelet was done! It IS even easier than it looks! How I did it: I already had a copy and was waiting only to finish another of Jane Austen's novels to get round to reading this one. As for the story, it is quite an intriguing one and especially after the second volume I read impatiently to find out what would become of the characters. However Jane Austen does not inform the reader much about the male characters so one usually does not have much idea on what to think about them.. Yet again this suits t… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had already bought the book and was waiting to finish Wuthering Heights to start this one.. Although the former has been an intriguing story keeping my mind preoccupied even after I was done reading, this one i found warm and welcoming. I had had difficulty and had sometimes been bored with Wuthering Heights although I could not stop reading. As for Pride and Prejudice, especially as the story improved, I actually had a lot of fun (way … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I have oily skin with marks on my cheeks. It sounds horrible but it is fairly manageable with the help of oil removing pad thingies and constant touch ups with my powder. The marks are remnants of chicken pox and they do bother me even though they are relatively small, like large pores which do not shrink with cleansing and tonic. But what really used to bum me was the horrible shiny appearance I got when I did not pay any attention. When… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Back in Middle School I remember being forced to watch it for English classes but back then we thought it was so complicated that the class never got past the first two or three chapters. Yet I remember that the story and the setting had impressed me big time. Years later with a more mature mind and a level of English fit to comprehend it (I hate translations), I decided to give it a go. I bought a copy and prepared myself for some heavy … Read how I did it…
How I did it: It all started about a month ago when I first joined this website... I had been pretty depressed for the last 6 months. I had finished my M.A. as the top of my class yet I was still unemployed. The feeling of achievement was lacking in my life and I was so bored of it I used to wake up in the mornings refusing to get out of bed asking myself how that day could be worth living since I had absolutely nothing to do. People around me were of … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I decided to leave notes in the books I had used for my thesis work last year. It was not a pleasant time of my life -and that is an understatement- and those who will be studying the same topic will possibly go through the same pain as I did. I know how impossible it is to take the plunge and go for it and how people keep procrastinating when it comes to studying so I found motivational quotes online and prepared 7-8 small notes addresse… Read how I did it…
