How I did it: I located my birthmother in California, more than 10 years ago, via the Maury Povich show. A friend in the adoption "industry" hooked me up with the show when she learned I was looking. They found my mother in about 20 minutes - but she refused to be on the show. So, they put us in contact, but no one got to fly anywhere and meet anyone. How I did it: I broke it into parts and then came up with with money for the exam ($100 at a real eye doctor) and then the glasses themselves. Check prices on both lenses and frames to get the best combo. I took my family to help me choose frames, to three places with a good sale. Fall is a good time, because there are back-to-school sales.
