Forgive my father

Ok so my father is getting ready to take me on a trip with him in August to finally meet my relatives on his side of the family. This is a big deal for me….he is one of twelve kids and I have never met any of my aunts and uncles. I am nervious…so much family…aunts, uncles, cousins. I hope I won’t be too overwhelmed.

Anyways its just going to be and my father in his RV for a little over 3 weeks. We are going to make it a scenic journey, travelling around and sight seeing as well as the meeting the family. This trip will be more time alone with him than I think we have spent in the last 30 yrs. And I am finally just going to come clean about how I feel about everything too.

I think about giving up on this one all the time, I don’t think its ever really going to happen. My father is obviously not concerned in anything other than himself or the girlfriend of the week. I think I am wasting time on this. Maybe I don’t need to forgive him….maybe I just need to get over it and be done with him.

I don’t think that this is ever going to happen. Everytime I think there might be a chance he blows it.
