Sis had a great day... 1 week ago

We went Christmas shopping. Today she was smiling & laughing when she talked about mom being up in Heaven with God. I know she loved mom & still misses her, but I think she’s enjoying having her own apartment – “growing up” I call it – and she laughs.

I love sis so much so it warms my heart to see her happy again.

Rehearsal for tomorrow went great... 1 month ago

I get to play cowbell on Don’t Fear the Reaper, sing lead on _ Blondie’s _One Way or Another,” belt out _Me & Bobby McGee, and even hit the high harmonies on Lola & Every Rose Has Its Thorn. I think it’s going to be a really FUN set.

A cool morning... 2 months ago

made for a nice, long PLEASANT walk.

Hubby has a gig tonight... 3 months ago

in Nashville. I’d like to be there to cheer him on, but Im really sick… So instead, I gave myself a shower, dried my hair & even flossed my teeth…

He’s been taking care of me for the past few days, and telling me how beautiful I am, even though my hair was dirty & I’d been in the same nightgown for three days… I’m so lucky to have him.

All the rest I’ve gotten has done me good… The bags under my eyes are disappearing and I have the energy to sit up for more than a few minutes. I can’t wait until he comes home & sees me looking like ME again…

Things that have made me happy this week... 5 months ago

Browsing Berkeley book stores… A really fun gig for both of us… Sunset from our Berkeley hotel room, with a breath taking view of the city & Bay… LOVING hubby’s old female friends… RAINBOWS, actual RAINBOWS all over Berkeley while we were out walking…

A very sweet Italian-esque bungalow less than a block off Sonoma Plaza… Last minute reservation at the girl & the fig with a delicious prix fixe menu (really yummy)... A WILD hike along the coast near Bodega Bay… Port chocolate sauce… Sourdough with great EVOO & 25 year old imported balsamic… Taylor’s Refresher (yummy in a much more casual way)... Peju & BR Cohn (favorite wineries so far)... A long massage & soak/sauna at a secret hot mineral springs spa in the hills…

A comfy & quiet room at a funky B&B in the North Bay, situated in the middle of the courtyard of one of our favorite restaurants… People are dining outside our windows & it smells fantastic… So cool!

All this topped off by a review from Rand Bishop, which says the lyrics on our next song are “near perfection…”

More Napa/Sonoma tomorrow, or maybe a trip out to Stinson… Dinner with friends in the Oakland hills tomorrow night & on Friday, a trip to a favorite restaurant out on the coast with more friends…

We leave Saturday afternoon… That part makes me sad. ;(

Hubby's home! 5 months ago

The gigs didn’t go well. He enjoyed seeing his old friends, but seemed really glad to be back home. REALLY REALLY glad! ;)

My scar... 5 months ago

I’m getting tons of compliments about my mole removal. I never really WANTED to get rid of it, but now I’m soo glad I did.

Home alone... 5 months ago

Hubby left early this morning with some of his old band mates. They have some “reunion” gigs this week & I’m here alone. I already miss him. It’s so weird being lovesick. I always thought of myself as so independent… :)

Skin care... 5 months ago

My plastic surgeon gave me a free consult with his skin clinic where you can get medical grade skin care products. I have never seriously considered plastic surgery, but I take good care of my skin.

The doc recommended Retin-A for me, so I decided to give it a try.
He also scheduled me for a free chemical peel, once my face fully heals from the mole removal. I’ve never had a peel, so I’m kind of curious & excited to find out what it’s going to do.

Took off the bandage... 6 months ago

and looked at my face, sans mole. I know it’ll probably look great when it’s healed. A very good plastic surgeon did it.

The incision was more than twice the diameter of my mole, bigger than I expect, but tucked carefully into the natural folds of my face. So even if there’s a scar, it shouldn’t be too bad.

I feel relieved that all the surgical stuff is out of the way. I find out about the biopsies on Monday. It’ll probably be ok, but you never know for sure ‘til you know for sure.
