have hair to my bra-strap

is that all your real hair? Now that weave has taken over and seems to be the norm on women of color, people automatically assume my hair is fake or has some “extra” pieces in it. very annoying I must say!!

because tommorrow @1 p.m. I go get my hair done, I am so excited !! It has been 6 months since I had it done professionally. Unfortunately I think I’m still short a few inches but I’m going to think positive.

this Saturday will mark my two year anniversary of my hair goal. I won’t really know if I have reached it until April though. I’m really proud of myself for taking the time to learn and care for my hair properly, I’m am definitely seeing the fruits of my labor.

After a vent from my BF about her hair being all over the sink and on her shirt, I told her she needed a protein treatment!! She had never done one of these before and I told her they protect and make your stands stronger. I recommended some products and told her what I use, and I remembered I needed some more so I promised to pick her up some when I made a trip to the Whole Foods store. Yes I get terrific, natural haircare products from the health store. We all know preservatives and additives are not good for you (yes I know I eat them all the time) but I can at least prevent them in my hair that I so treasure, and that I need to stay happy so it can stay on my head. lol! Some of it is a little pricey but it’s well worth it. here is what I got :

you know that myth “black girls don’t have long hair” , I’m trying to dispell that. I’m a member of www.longhaircareforum.com a great website for women of color to learn healthy hair care techniques. I’m almost to my goal, I have till February to get there.. you grow girl !!
