Pay it Forward

i lent the book to my mum – who then misplaced it :0(

on having a clear-out, mum wanted to take 3 bags of books to a thrift shop. i asked if i could offer them around where i work (our volunteers are mostly pensioners, who buy their books from the thrift shop). then i’d take the books to the thrift once they were done – so our volunteers get something for free, and the charity doesnt miss out either. everyone thought this was a great idea.

on getting the books out, i found my copy of Pay It Forward !!

so being charitable and thoughtful for the volunteers certainly paid off in unexpected ways!

i picked the book up in a charity shop, not ususally my sort of fiction, but somehow i really wanted to read it. I loved it, so inspiring and uplifting.

then i saw the film, and was sorely disapointed. they missed so much out of the story, including 2 poininant things that i think really made the point.

so i recommend people read the book. and i’ll see what i can do to pay it forward.
