i have really made an effort to take the train at least once a week. twice if possible and carpool. so i am checking this off. mostly because i am getting freaked out because i am almost not 27 anymore and i’m running out of time to finish my 27 things… so yeah, checking it off, i feel like i deserve it!!

i took the train thursday, got some knitting done and got to hang out with my friend on the way… and friday i didn’t get in the car at all… :)
i am thinking that if i carpool or telecommute once a week and take the train once a week or something so that i only drive 3 times i’ll be really happy with myself. so that’s the current plan.
carpooled three legs this week, 4 if you count taking the amtrak and driving home with my boss from sacramento yesterday. this means i haven’t worked out in the mornings (except today) but i am blaming that on the 1/2 marathon “recovery” :)
i left the car down here last night and carpooled home and took the train this morning, which prevented me from going to yoga last night and the gym this morning, but i did walk 2 miles up and over potrero hill to get to caltrain this morning, a less than adequate substitute…
caltrain/light rail has made me 40 minutes late twice in the past weeks. yesterday i went to the gym and took the train. today i went to the gym and didn’t take the train. it was better.
took it tuesday, was 40 minutes late for work, not because of the train, but because of the lightrail. lightrail elevates my blood pressure… being passed by parked cars and old folks in walkers and watching the minutes tick away.
but traffic was horrible today, 1.5 hrs each way, so i’ll be taking the train again tomorrow.
caltrain baby!! i’ve stopped minding that it extends my commute time, but it is hard to choose between going for a run in the morning and having time to take the train. haven’t really felt too motivated to exercise lately so it’s been a pretty easy choice to take the train. :) BuT the great thing about it is that my car insurance has gone down because i told them i drive fewer times a week. yay! almost makes up for the fact that the train costs more than gas!
so i have been trying to take the train to work more, but when it comes down to it, it’s a choice between running or exercising in the morning, or taking the train. i just can’t wake up early enough to do both. the train just sucks up so much time… suggestions?
