Volunteer more and get my kids involved in volunteer work

son’s school last week (9/28) helping with PE testing and again yesterday (10/2/07) at the book fair.

my daughter’s school this morning with a mailing to over 2400 students.. then went to my son’s school and helped the coach do PE testing.

My daughter and I volunteered this morning for the kids in training triathalon that my son participated in. We set up and manned the water station and cheered the participants on during their triathalon.. It was a lot of fun doing it together and seeing all the kids do such a great job!! What a great way to spend the morning!

I have volunteered to send out donation cards to people in my neighborhood for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I should have them all out by the end of this week.

I am volunteering on Friday at my daughter’s new school.. helping to stuff envelopes with all the schedules!

I worked the Jimmy V jr. Classic yesterday from 6am to 5:30pm.. A friend and I were the first ones there in the morning and one of the last people there in the afternoon… It was such a great time for such a great cause. I will definitely do this again next year!!

For the Jimmy V Jr. Golf classic. I have to be there by 6:00am.. wow, that is early! I am looking forward to meeting lots of great people and working for such a great cause.

Went to the orientation last Thursday night for the Jimmy V Jr. golf classic tournament. I will be volunteering there a week from Monday during the tournament. I can’t wait.. I think it will be a great experience. The money that is raised goes to Pediatric cancer research. I feel good about doing this.

Talked to one of my friends today about volunteering at the local soup kitchen… She is supposed to send me a scheudle for me to sign up! My daughter is old enough now to go too.. so we will have to get some dates on the calendar for her to go with me.

I signed up to be a volunteer at the Jimmy V junior golf classic in June. My dad had multiple myeloma just like Jimmy V did.. so it makes me feel good to be supporting an organization that raises money for cancer.. in this case it will be to support pediatric cancer research.

Can’t golf very well, but can certainly help out..
Professor… do you remember the time in college when we were co-oping and I went golfing with a bunch of the engineers from the dept..??? you asked me how I did and when I told you my score, you said that was great.. I didn’t say anything right away.. and then you asked me… That was for 18 holes, right.. and I was forced to say “no, that was for 9”... and you said, oh, that’s terrible!! :)
