and addicted to the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer.
I swore I would not read these books and now I can’t put them down! It’s like Harry Potter all over again!! Damn!

I’m going to finish Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. I don’t know if it’s the best book ever written, but it is very entertaining and learning about footbinding is very interesting.
My guide books for Tokyo! Yay!
and Blindness was hella good… even though it took me forever to read it… I don’t know why.
finished Death of Raymond Yellow Thunder! It was really great! These are the kinds of things we publish that make me really proud of my job.
Next: Blindness by Jose Saramago. I bought this book probably about four months ago and then kind of forgot about it. I picked it up to read last night and then this morning saw a thing online that said they are making it a movie! Haha I can’t believe my timing. Anyway, it’s really great so far. Very intense and surprisingly vivid, visually.
I am currently reading Death of Raymond Yellow Thunder by Stew Magnuson. I feel special because it’s still in the proofs stage. Also, it’s really great.
Also, I have been reading a lot of poetry; I’m still trying to buff up for my poetry class in the fall.
If anybody has a favorite poet or poem, let me know about it!
yes, I’m counting a book of poetry
What the Living Do by Marie Howe
it’s amazing. it made me cry a lot more then I was expecting it to.
I don’t even like poetry! stupid poetry!
Ok, this week I will be reading more than one book I’m afraid… ok maybe not afraid… well you get the point.
I have to read 5 dystopian novels from the 60s and write a 12 page research paper on them. I think I have my work cut out for me… not that I should complain, I did pick this topic.
First: Anthony Burgess: The Wanting Seed
Well, it’s summer school time. Not a whole lot of time for reading :(
I did get the new McSweeneys (27) though. I read that whenever I get a chance. Yay!
Other then that: Nip the Buds, Shoot the Kids is being slowly ploded through.
K, havn’t quite gotten through the McCarthy book, but I’m reading Death Assemblage by Susan Cummins Miller. She’s great! Should have it finished by tomorrow!! That will be my book for the week! yay!
Ok, so I read this book about the 1900 Galvaston Hurricane. I picked it up because I enjoyed Isaac’s Storm by Erik Larson so much. The Great Storm, wasn’t as good, of course, but it was written for kids (and published by the TTUP—where I work!) So I had to give it a try!
NOW: The Crossing by Cormac McCarthy… this might take more then a week to read. I like to savor his books.
