I purchased an armoire for my entertainment system. Placing the TV, DVD player, and ALL of the chords away from plain site and having everything organized into one corner of the room has helped my immensly to simplify. Everytime I look at it I am calmed by its simplicity. I also love that it takes the attention of the room away from the television. Finally!

In an attempt to get some money to pay off debt (also considered simplifying) and to create a more “zen” space in my home, my fiancee and I have decided to sell everything that we can or that we know would be worth money.
I think this will help us simplify and also keep us from purchasing things that we don’t need!
I spent almost an entire workday today cleaning out my office and creating a place that I can keep track of things, keep things organized, and not feel overwhelmed. Too much stuff and clutter and insanity makes things harder to do and clouds my mind. I am also going to simplify my budget this month, making a debit for everything that needs to be paid before it needs to be paid and keeping all other money in cash. Wish me luck!
This weekend I spent my entire two days off cleaning the inside of the house and organizing everything and putting it away. My Fiancee and I cleaned the yard out, edged, picked weeds, and threw away all the yard junk we didn’t want. Triming the yard to have simple, clean lines, and picking up all the clutter in the house helped. I took 4 bags of clothes/shoes/and other goods to Goodwill on Saturday. We washed and cleaned out both of our cars, throwing away all extra junk and finally hooked up the water and ice to our fridge. In addition to simplifying, I feel more organized and more sane. More to come!
I have decided to have all of my bills and bank statements sent online rather than having them sent to my house. This is going to cut down on the amount of paper that I have laying around and also the amount of important confidential documents that I need to file, but never do. I think this is going to help simplify my life in a big way.
I’m going to do this goal one thing at a time: Each room in the house, my car, my bills, my belongings, my paperwork, my job, finally I will be simple and free! I stayed at a hotel this weekend with my fiancee for an early valentines day. Everything was so simple- storage, linens, colors. There was no chaos. I want my life to feel like a hotel room.
So, last night I began on Room #1: The Master Bedroom. I cleaned off all of the magazine, clutter, jewlery, garbage, pictures, electronics and other junk from the bedstands and the dresser. I hung up all the clothes from the floor and re-organized my drawers. I replaced only a couple of pictures and our alarm clocks on the bedstands. Everything else was put elsewhere. The room looks simple and comfy. I slept better than ever last night without all the clutter!
Nothing to accomplish this goal. I cleaned my house last night and found that storage is a huge issue and my clingy nature when faced with getting rid of anything is going to make it downright impossible to throw anything away. So, i’ve gotten everything semi put away now I just need to figure out how to simplify my life. Maybe I should start with the mind rather than the house
