I have been fortunate to not be working for a month. During this time, I have searched for a job (start a new job in 2 days).
My mind has been open to any opportunity. I was in a UPS store sending a package and was really impressed by the customer service of this one person. My thought was that I would like to work where that type of service is appreciated. I went back a few days later and mentioned the person to a manager and said it seemed like a good place to work and asked if they were hiring for the holiday season. They weren’t hiring, but it felt good to tell the manager about the great service I received.
It also opened my mind on another way to search for a job.
Last night (a Sunday) I was shopping at a mall and was really impressed with the service at Kohl’s. I received help from 6 or 7 different people on different issues. All were very helpful and I mentioned it at the Customer Service Desk. I filled out a card with my name and address on it.
I was also impressed with the low prices.
