conquer my fear of public speaking

I made a total ass of myself the other day. Some big-wigs came down to our office, and we held an impromptu meeting. We had to go around a table of about 15 people, and give our names, our titles, and how long we’ve worked there. I barely could squeak out my name and title, much less my years with the agency. I find my public speaking has become more and more debilitating, and may soon interfere with my career goals.My boss knows how I freak about public speaking, and rarely calls on me to do any projects that would involve “speaking”. And, the thought of even joining Toastmasters give me hives.
