I’m not succeeding at this at all so far. But I’m planning a complete change in routine. To do my internet stuff in the morning instead of at night, and to just go to bed right after dinner, or at least around 9pm. (It should be easier now that there’s no television.) It’s early, but then I’d get to get up at 5am and feel I have the whole day ahead of me.
Pretty much a prerequisite for the “Do my morning pages every morning” thing. It’s fucking depressing, when I go through really bad patches and nights and days reverse, and I wake up in the afternoon feeling as if I’ve let another day pass me by. To do this: GO TO BED BEFORE MIDNIGHT. That’s pretty much it. No matter how much I want to put off the next day. I should have learned by now that it doesn’t work, that I can’t.
I think daylight does affect my mood. It’s not as if there’s that much of it anyway, here in London, especially now in winter – I have to take advantage of the little I do get.
Ideal time to get up: 6:30am, that’s the one to aim for. For that to happen, and to get eight hours sleep which I apparently need, I’d have to be in bed by 10.30pm.
