move to the country

and it has surpassed our expectations in so many ways. Because the school year has ended, I was able to spend the first three days settling in and unpacking. Our first night here we couldn’t believe the dark and quiet. It’s a little bit of heaven on earth!

until the big move. We are already getting packed up and we are so excited! I’ve done all the address changes, etc. We have a busy weekend coming up and then on Monday we head out.

Three weeks and we will be leaving the city and going to the country. Tonight we sign the lease.

Yesterday we looked at a fabulous country rental apartment about 7 miles outside Petaluma. It sits on 10 acres with 4 other small residences. We were able to meet most of the others who live there. It’s perfect! We turn in our application tomorrow and wait for the call… fingers are crossed!

until next summer. We have decided to stay in SF another year.

about a caretaking opportunity on a non-working ranch. Could be an awesome thing if it’s a good fit. Hope to hear back soon.

we will have some extra help finding a place to live in June. A’s employer offered to help us find a place and mentioned there are a lot of nice ranch cottages available near his work. It would be such a drastic change to move from here to the country. I welcome it. Otherwise, we can always live near downtown and I’m okay with that too.

I’ll be getting my resume in order today to send off. I have found a job, though I have no idea when it begins or if they will see me as a good fit. Regardless, with the encouragement of a couple of people this week I am going to get my shit together and send it to them today.

Alex gets this job, we could be well on our way. We’ll find out this week.
