I realized today that this goal is accomplished... 3 years ago

because the whole underlying reason I put this goal out there was to help me with my attitude throughout the day. I am an outwardly positive person, and only the people who know me best pick up on or know about my extremely negative side. So, most people who know me would be surprised about this goal in the first place. However, I used to consistently wake up dreading facing the day and wishing myself to already have completed it. This is not the case any more, and I view each day as a new day and each new day has its own potential for wonderful things and excitement. Negative things may happen during it, but I can handle those and move on. I’ve got a few people who are friends and family members that help me stay focused on this goal, too, when I’m relapsing and being too negative.

I am excited that my vision with this goal has caught on and I even have had team support with this. It has made this goal even more alive and meaningful. Team: I hope everyone is making the personal realizations and discoveries you are needing to help you with this goal. I will continue to be your strong supporters with this. :D



Extremely outstanding attitude today!!! :D 3 years ago

I got up at 3 a.m., did my workout, got ready, did a little work at my office and was at my other office at 4:30 a.m. to leave for an all-day trip, which we just got back at 10 p.m. or so from. This was all done with a great deal of enthusiasm, too. I also was able to have a good deal of patience today, too. I chaperoned an out-of-state trip for some of the children’s department clients today. (Let me tell you we had 11 adolescents on the trip. Enough said, I hope.) It was a good day. :)

I’ve been working fairly hard at getting enough rest so that I’m able to get out of bed without delay lately. It’s starting to work, too. :)

With this job I just now started, I’m going to have to have a good attitude all the time. My clients are my neighbors, and they’ll be looking to me to set an example for them. That’s a lot of responsibility, so I must begin with having an outstanding attitude at the outset.

For me, this will mean:
  • Getting out of bed without delay.
  • Saying a prayer of thanksgiving.
  • Doing things to properly take care of myself first thing. (for example: exercise, healthy breakfast, etc.)
  • Doing some motivational reading.
  • Being in my office or appointed location 5 minutes early.


I'm beginning to see what my main obstacles are with this goal. 3 years ago

With having a good work situation, the only things that really hinder this goal are worry and tiredness. Those are two things I pretty much continually battle anyway. I’ve been working hard on those two things, so I know they’ll be better eventually. I’m doing well with this goal, I think, for the most part. :)

It’s amazing how much the right work situation will make this goal easier! The person I work for is one of my friends, but he’s equally a good boss, too. I have many different tasks and responsibilities with this job, but I view them all as challenges to get them done efficiently, quickly, and happily instead of a negative situation. I’m continuing to learn new things, and I’m not getting stressed with it all. I don’t think I’ve ever smiled as much at work before this job, or been as consistently positive. So, I don’t know if it’s the focus on this goal, or something else that’s aided me. Regardless of the cause, I’m thrilled with how I’ve been. :D

Things are better-I think-for me. I just need to work on getting more sleep so I feel like getting up when I need to in the morning. There’ve been a lot of extenuating circumstances keeping me up, though, lately.

it’s helped me a great deal to maintain a positive attitude since I’ve gotten so much accomplished lately…especially when it comes to my organization/decluttering goals. This goal is very challenging, but so were those goals, and I’m seeing great progress with those. It gives me hope for this one, too. :D

this goal is really progressing. I’m having a positive attitude more consistently to greet the day with. This is a good sign for me. I hope to keep this up, because then the next step will be to have an outstanding attitude at the beginning of the day! (and to keep that consistent.) I know no one can have a perfect attitude all day, but the better mine is at the outset of the day, the better able I am to attack goals. That’s the reason I’m so persistent with this goal.

I got up early this morning to help a friend out for an hour or so... 3 years ago

and really enjoyed getting up this morning! It was really cool. Today was the first day I’ve had in a while like that where it was a positive-thought morning. I don’t even really remember the alarm clock ringing, that’s probably because I got about 5 hours sleep, though. I’m happy today! :)
