I’m glad that I did this, because I really do not like most soft drinks any more. I’m happy with what I did for this goal, and feel like it’s been worth it in the long-run.

that we have LESS THAN A MONTH left for this goal??? Wow! I’m excited about it, because in this year I truly have learned to live without them for the most part. I don’t like a lot of soft drinks any more, and I’m thrilled for that result. That was what I was trying to do with this goal in conjunction with breaking my caffeine addiction.
less than two months away from completing this goal. I’m excited. I hope that Des will let me check this one off on January 3, 2008. I think I’ve definitely gotten in the habit of drinking other things, and have found out when I’ve had to make exceptions that I generally still do not like that many varieties of soft drinks. I plan to keep them extremely limited after this goal is checked off.
I went to a restaurant for dinner and I was feeling really weird because I wasn’t able to eat at my normal time because I had to work late. I knew I needed something that would raise my blood sugar quickly, so I ordered a Sprite. I managed to drink 6 oz of the stuff and started feeling more normal, so I sent it back for a water. It tasted so weird…kind of what I’d imagine poison might taste like. All I know is that I’m glad that they taste so bad now to me, because I really don’t plan to start drinking them again after this year is up. I really do not like them at all it would seem.
4 months left on this one. I accidentally took a sip of my friend’s daughter’s Sprite last night because her cup was set too close to my place setting at the restaurant. I’d been drinking water, so it was quite a surprise! Soft drinks really don’t taste all that good after you get away from them…or at least this is my experience.
because as much as I’ve wanted caffeine over the last couple of weeks, I still don’t like soft drinks and haven’t had the desire to drink them even for the caffeine. (Now if I could only say the same about coffee!) I will make it with this goal, I know! :D
Did you all realize it was June??? That means we’re almost 50% done at this point!!! YEA!!!
Is everyone still doing well with this goal? I am! :D
I drank 3 Sierra Mist drinks. (It’s kind of like Sprite or 7-Up.) I was sick with major stomach problems, and I didn’t have anything with significant calories that was considered a clear liquid. So, I used the drink machine here since I didn’t feel like driving to the store. This is a health related exception. So, I’m not considering it an impediment to my goal. In fact, I really had to force it down, because it just tasted like a bunch of chemicals. Yesterday, when I was finally able to start drinking water again, it tasted so very good in comparison. I just don’t get it, why did I like soft drinks so much in the first place??? They really don’t taste good.
half-way through this goal in a few weeks! :D This is exciting. I also thought I’d mention that I saw the most interesting thing at Wal-Mart last night. Diet Coke Plus. It’s supposed to be Diet Coke with some vitamins and maybe minerals, too, added to it. I was very curious about it, but not curious enough to break my hard work with this goal. I’d also thought it probably wouldn’t even taste good to me, too. I was also thinking about that “artificial sweetener goal”, too…and thinking it would probably hurt me in the long-run. (I usually have pain after I drink soft drinks after I’ve stayed away from them for the short-term…now that it’s long-term, I’d be very afraid.)
I rambled on about that all to demonstrate how relatively easy it is to talk myself out of drinking soft drinks when I have the slightest thought of consuming them. And, that’s not very often nowadays. More often than not, I get annoyed with having to be in the presence of all the soft drinks because I’d rather have something healthier. :)
