I tried these with dinner tonight. I steamed some frozen ones for 10 minutes and then added some salt and pepper to season. The smaller ones I can handle okay, but the bigger ones aren’t very palatable to me. I’m glad I’ve exposed myself to them, because now I won’t be as scared of them. I might get these every once in a while again…although I’d rather try the fresh produce ones if I can find them, so I can pick out the smaller ones and not get any bigger ones.

I had a lunch at a restaurant on Sunday and turnip greens came with it. I decided that I’d give them another try, and they were actually pretty good. I don’t know if I’d eat them all the time, but I won’t automatically dismiss them as a side dish option any more.
I included these in a Mexican style dish that I made yesterday. They seem similar to poblano peppers in taste to me. Not very spicy at all. (This may be attributed to my taking out the seeds and ribs, though or my extended cooking time.) I’d use them again.
I had this as part of a steak dish this past week. I liked it, and I will eat it again. I’m glad that this is available at some of the stores I shop at. I’d like to include it more often in my diet.
Yea, I only have three more to go before this goal is completed! :)
I had these as part of a seafood dish this week. They are good. I’d eat them again. I cannot describe how they tasted to me, except that they complimented what I had. If they were readily available in the supermarket, I’d buy it and use it regularly.
I got a mixture of purple, red, and white miniature potatoes in a bag. I decided to roast them with olive oil, thyme, basil, green onion, rosemary and garlic. VERY good. I think I like the purple ones better than the others. They’ve got a really consistent texture and a somewhat richer taste than the others. They’re also “funner” to cook with because they’re purple all the way through, not just the peeling.
I retried a bite of this on Sunday. I still don’t like it. At least I am being open-minded with this goal.
I retried this. Both the marinated kind and the plain kind. I don’t like them. I don’t exactly know if it’s a taste or texture thing, but I really don’t like them.
They’re similar to navy or white beans to me. And I tried them out last night in my minestrone soup.
Yesterday I decided to start this goal. I ordered endamame caviar as a side for my lunch. (I have no idea if I’ve spelled this correctly or not.) It had the beans (or are they considered peas), corn, bell peppers and some other things in it as a type of salad sort of thing. I ended up liking it pretty well. They remind me of non-mushy lima beans. (I think I might like them better than lima beans in fact.)
So, one down and nine to go. :)
