I will be ticking this goal as done soon. But before I do that I would like to write down how I feel I have done with this goal this year. I am really happy with my progress with this goal in 2012. Everything I have done this year I owe it to having a healthy lifetime habits. But of course like any other human beings I had bad times too. There were times that I didn’t feel like exercising or did not eat the most nutritious food. Especially when I fell ill or when I felt low. And on holidays too. But, I am not worried about the holidays as you don’t want to restrict yourself on the things you love eating and drinking during holidays. Healthy living is important but enjoying life is equally important.
I will not have this goal as a yearly goal in 2013. I will probably break exercising and eating goals weekly instead. I find better to have short term goals. I believe this would be better to recover from falls and will help with getting motivated quicker too.
Yeah, I did great this year, Kept an eye on what I ate and drank and had my regular exercisings just fine.
I have had the unhealthiest month of the year in November. I had too much ups and downs and did not exercise regularly and did not eat the best food. I certainly didn’t over eat anything like that but it was not the way I like to do it.
The thing is I was away two weeks and when I got back I didn’t feel like going back to my regular exercising plans. Didn’t even feel like cooking much. I literally lived on muesli, salads and easy dishes. Not much of a variety though. And missed meals as I have no appetite most of the time. Now if I start exercising surely I will feel more energy and that should help me to get into my old healthy habits.
I did not do well in the last two weeks due to heavy schedule. I was away and was extremely busy. I was out all day long everyday and could not cook food at home. I ate food from cafés everyday. But most of the times I chose the healthy ones. Still not happy with it unless it is home cooked food. When you order food at a café or restaurant the dish is either too salty or added no salt at all. And when you add salt after it is cooked then it is too salty. Plus the salt they give you at the café’s are the cheapest quality. I only use certain sea salt at home when I cook. And do not like the oil they use. And many othet things. So not too happy how last two weeks went in many ways.
When I do not eat healthy and good food I am not happy. I feel guilty. I lost weight last two weeks. Most women would be happy with this. I am not because it was not by choice.
I am back in London and back to normality, thanks god!
I have been very busy last two weeks and could not exercise or eat health fod the way I want but I will get back into the routine from next week.
Just a short note that I went home for my court hearing for 2 days last week. And had other things I needed to pay a lot of attention and take things easy a bit so I don’t feel overloaded. But now I am feeling everything is more under control and can be me again from next week.
And what a lovely day here in London. Had a very pleasant 1 hour walk in sunshine this morning.
This is strange as all my life I did not go without breakfast. I am in a rush or not. I cannot leave home without eating something. But this has changed recently.
I am not getting up late or anything I don’t know. Everything is the same but now I go without breakfast. I do not get hungry until lunch time. I have very little appetite in general in these days but I really want to go back to healthy way of living.
Good thing though I am not over eating at lunch. It’s still the same as before but best is to eat something in the mornings. Need to think what to do about this or maybe it will change back to normal by itself.
I went to Italy for a week and I had the most delicious food in my life. And the result is 1 and half kilos weight gain. Boooo! But no problem. I am back to my healthy lifestyle and have already started with my exercising plans straight away. I cooked healthy dishes and well stocked with veg and fruit now. And I have planned the entire week until Sunday eve.
I had put 2 kgs on during my summer holiday in June too. I find easy to lose not settled weight gain quicker if I diet and exercise straight after my hols. It took me a week to lose 2kgs. Hope this will be the same.
I believe that I have been doing well with this goal. There are times I do really good and times not so good but I am happy with it. I am not a health freak and I have a life to live too. But I am trying to have a balance and I remember that everything is in moderation. In that way I can have a healthy future and live hopefully longer and enjoy eating and drinking anything I want until old ages.
Now, I would love to mention what I do to make this goal a success:
1-If I had an unhealthy eating ( During holidays, illness or when feeling down ) I start eating healthy as soon as I can.
2-I try to exercise everyday even if it is half an hour or a good work out min. 3 x a week. In fact I love exercising. I sometimes think that I will be over 50 – 60 one day and will not be able to do the things I can now. I will certainly remember and miss my gym classes and having high energy. So make sure to make the most of being young and able to do as much exercising I like.
3- I do not take alcohol more than 3 nights a week. Night 1. I have cocktails with hubby at home and we have wine with dinner afterwards. N2. I have wine in front of telly once a week. 3. And if I go out have drinks with friends.
4- I do not smoke. I can proudly say I have never smoked. My friends are not allowed to smoke at my place when they come to visit me as I cannot stand the smell of it. My hubby did quit smoking soon after we started seeing each other and been off of it for 4 years now. Love him for doing that.
5- I always cook my own food at home. I never buy ready made dishes from the supermarkets or eat take away food. I do not enjoy any of that.
6- I love fruits, vegetables and I really get annoyed when all of these beauties get too expensive because we import them from abroad. (British weather is not good to grow these here)
7- I am thirsty for water. Can not drink any fizzy drinks other than fizzy mango which I do not even remember when I bought one last time.
So with all of these in mind I am doing well on this goal.
I have done lots this week despite the cold as cold weather puts me off of doing anything! But I did my best.
Monday – Cycled – 8 miles
Tuesday – Played Badminton
Wednesday – 15 minutes of Kettleworx (I know it’s not much but better than doing nothing. Especially after Badminton as I had not played it for a while and that was a bit challenging for me)
Thursday – Half an hour walk
Friday – Half an hour walk
Saturday – Cycled – 12 miles
Sunday – Rest day
I can feel that my metabolism has slowed down. Good thing though I am eating healthy. I always have homemade dishes. I cannot have it any other way anyway. That’s a lifetime habit.
But I am so unfit right now and whatever I do I get tired quickly and easily. I am going to work on that and built up my exercising slowly and I cannot wait for the arrival of spring too.
I did well in the first two weeks of January but this week has been awful. I think I am having winter blues. Having mouth ulcer and all did not help. All of these feelings and low of energy causing me to be in low spirits!
And a trip home is on the way. Even though it is a short trip I will find it difficult to adapt to normality in London after my trip from home as usual.
So now I need to work on increasing my energy level which means that I need to exercise regularly. As a matter of fact I know that will help. When I have higher energy I have high spirits.
It will be a busy week next week. Flying over on Wednesday and be back early Friday but will try to get into exercising straight after my trip. I need to start working on increasing the energy level now.
