poor coneflowers. they weren’t exactly thriving but they had started sending up new leaves. Then my husband mowed the poor things down. They’re dead, jim.

I planted a clump of coneflowers my mother gave me.
It’s still alive, so far. I don’t know how it will take to the increased heat and humidity down here. Luckily with August half gone it will have the relatively drier and cooler part of the year to adjust.
I sure hope they do survive and thrive even. I like having to divide plants. It means they like where they are and grow without depending on me too much (and that’s bad for a plant).
