Okay- so I haven’t been to church in, like, more than a year….... But I can explain! They really upset me. The pastor’s wife had a 50th birthday party at a really posh hotel. At the bottom of the invite, it read: “suggested gift items- Escada, St. John’s”... Now you know I have no angst against a fashionista, but come on, is it appropriate for the pastor’s wife to list this on the invite? To me, you should be grateful for WHATEVER someone decides to give you! ..... So I got mad at church and stopped going and then there went reading my bible…. It was actually a patient who inspired me to start reading today. I was looking for a verse re: Jesus being a cornerstone, and he quoted it right out of the blue. I was thoroughly impressed. I need to know God’s word like I inhale & exhale…

I still have my smaller Bible in my desk drawer at work and have enough time during lunch break (if I bring my lunch) to read it. I will make more of an effort. I’d like to read about Hannah and last night I dreamt that someone told me “Sin is the opposite of Faith; the reasons why we sin are because we have little faith”. That’s pretty deep. We fall to temptation because we have no faith… I know this is in Romans somewhere, I’d like to find it…
I’m afraid to do this at work for risk of being thought of as weird of fanatical. I know this is only the devil, for that, I confess 2 Cor 10:5
Reading the Bible always gives me a sense of peace…I should do it every day… People always say, “set time aside to do the things you want”, but I don’t want to “make an appointment” so to speak to read or rush to read just for the sake of reading it… How do you do it?
