make nifty homemade gifts

I drew (maybe “wrote” would be a better word?) this tree for my sister for Christmas.

It’s made out of words, see?

The text is a quote about trees by Ralph Waldo Emerson. I think this is the favorite gift I’ve given to date.

This is a book wreath that I made for my friend K. She had a birthday awhile back and has probably despaired at ever receiving anything from me. (I am not known for sending timely gifts.) But this way it’ll be a surprise! My friend likes reading as much as I do so I thought this would be the perfect gift for her.

I’m sticking in this side view just so you can see the texture. It’s quite “ruffle-ly”. It still needs just a teensy bit more sprucing and then it’ll be ready to go. (But who knows when I’ll get it to the Post Office. Maybe by her next birthday? :P)
