We explored the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey, another English heritage property, on a recent trip to Canterbury. Ironically, I didn’t have my EH membership card on me, but since we have joint membership, I was let in on my husband’s one.
The boy and I picked up annual memberships to the English Heritage Society a couple of weekends ago, when we were at Stonehenge. Not only did this get our membership fee refunded, but also it gives us an incentive to explore more of England during our time here.
Stonehenge was amazing. My sense of what ‘history’ is was extended just by being there.
