...to know just how bad I was before! Oh Well! I’ve got a new teacher who is really clear and easy to follow. She ALSO taught me how to do this clever little “kick-ball-change” move instead of a swivel or backstep, which makes me look like a really classy dancer. Also taking a class that is entirely devoted to spins: I used to think I was good at spins! Ha! I have only begun to address this goal.

I’m learning to not feel so self-concious when I miss a step, and I had a wonderful time dancing last night. Non-stop fun. One guy led me into these flying leaps that were amazing! Also, several of my partners had just come from the same class, and they taught me two new eight count steps. I was exhausted when I got on the train to go home, and I have a mild dance-hang-over this morning. So worth it.
Sometimes, in class, I just want to be lazy. Last night, I was sort of hungry and listless, and the teacher found all kinds of problems with my frame (how I hold my upper body and arms while dancing). At first, I wasn’t steady enough, and then I was too rigid. It was tiring. I need to eat an apple before class.
