Learn how to whistle really loud with my fingers

My dog can hear me (maybe) 3 years ago

following Alleycat469’s advice, I can make a whistle-type sound. It isn’t loud and sometimes it isn’t anything at all, but it’s encouraging.

It also seems to get my dog worked up, which is funny because she’s nearly deaf. I must be hitting a pitch she can still hear, because she gets all antsy when I try and whistle!

Possible progress 4 years ago

I need to find someone – anyone – in my real life or on the internet who can do this. I have continued to randomly try and make a whiltle sound with my fingers in my mouth (still drooly, by the way) and I’ve noticed there’s a definite change in the way the air moves. It’s not makeing a shush sound now but more like an air though a cracked out car window sound. That sound would be described as a whistle, but mine is far below that title I feel.

When I tried to learn the first time, my father suggedted givig it a try every day on my walk to school. Maybe I’ll do it that way now as I walk from the parking lot to work (MUCH less time to practice!)

The internet is no help to me... 4 years ago

I have just gone through google, and looked at every “how to” site… I have managed a “air forced through fingers”” sound but it’s little more than a whoosh.

I need help with this. And everyone here at work thinks I’m bizzare (they may be right) and I’m tired of getting drool on my fingers.

CAUTION: There might be a lot of drool inherent in learning whistle!

Here are the kins I’ve found so far, better luck to all of you!

Where to start! 4 years ago

I don’t even know how to begin with this goal! I want to do this, and I have wanted to for a really long time… it’s product of growing up in a big city, where people actually used this for useful purposes.

People have tried to explain it to me, and I don’t really get it. I don’t know how to learn either!
