I’m excited to put some time into organizing later this week. Every time I finish something, I feel better and better. The goal is to have this goal completed by the time I leave in two weeks….that way, when I get back, I walk into a happy, inviting home.

Is almost done. I had a huge organizing spurt yesterday since I had a friend arriving in the evening to stay with me. I was proud to present an almost completely organized home. Just the bedroom closet and the office left to go. It is starting to feel great.
Done! Three rooms to go. Bathroom, which I should be able to get mostly done today, the bedroom, and the oh so dreaded office. The office will take the bulk of my time, needing to completely redone file-wise. But when it’s done I have a feeling I will feel so much better about my physical space.
Where does all the ‘stuff’ come from. I throw stuff out, give away, put it on the street with a free sign…..and yet more stuff shows up in its place. Yesterday I did something I’ve been meaning to do for a while, I put six boxes of stuff in my car, and took it to the thrift store and got rid of it. One more step towards my organized home.
I have organized my kitchen. Next, living room. After that the bathroom, bedroom, and lastly the office. After the organizing, I will put the final touches on with some decorating (or at least the first part of it, as it will take time with the artwork), and then this goal, and paint, decorate, and move-in to my new place will both be completed. Feels nice!
Today I took a carload to the thrift store. And, as I’ve been packing this last week to move, I have organized papers and weeded out things that just need to be thrown out. Final step will be to sell off some furniture, and as I move myself into my condo, make sure I have efficient organizational systems so I can keep up and not get back to the place of having so much “stuff”. It feels good to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. It took a good year to get here.
I spent a good number of hours this week on organization in my home. If felt good. It is a long project, but every time I get a good chunk done, it makes me happy. I also have accepted the fact it isn’t going to happen in a week or even a month. But of I can get it done within a year, that works for me.
I have plans this week to go through all my files and reorganize them in a easy and accessible way. I also plan to go through my car and give it a good cleaning inside and out (shouldn’t be too bad, except for all the stuff in the trunk that needs to go to the thrift store and dump.) And lastly, I would like to make it through my room and give it a solid clean out, throwing all the unused things out and away. If I can get all this done, I will consider this goal complete!
