4oz plain flour
2oz of butter
1.5oz of sugar
a pinch of salt
Sprinkle over the fruit
Bake in oven at 180 degreesC/350 degrees F/gas 4 for 15 to 20 minutes

Recipe
225g S R White flour
1/4 level tsp salt
1 level tsp baking powder
40 g butter softened
150 ml milk
1 medium egg beaten
whipped cream or butter and jam to serve
Preheat Oven 220 degrees C 220 degrees F
Mark 7 Fan
Grease a medium baking sheet
Sift flour, salt and baking powder together in a bowl
Rub in the butter until mixture resembles breadcrumbs
Stir in enough milk to make soft dough
Shape into a ball and turn onto floured surface
Roll out 2.15cm think use 6cm cutter to make six scones
Put scones on greased baking sheet and brush with beaten egg
Bake for 10 mins until golden and risen
Cool on a wire rack. Serve warm split open and topped with jam and cream or butter
