My dad is getting his Masters degree paid for by the Veterans Affairs office at EWU, so we’re staying in Spokane for a year. I’m ok with that though. I’d like to move to Seattle to go to UW in the fall of 2007, but I’m happy in Spokane right now. I was so preoccupied with wanting to move to Seattle that I didn’t notice how nice Spokane really is. Its not like Seattle, but it has its appeal. lol

...June of 2006. My parents told me that we’re going to move to Seattle if they can find good jobs over there. I’m so excited. They’re looking at either Everett, Bothel, or Kirkland to get a 3 bedroom townhouse in. I’ll be in my senior high school year, so that means that I’ll have so much fun in a big city. Just think, during the weekend I’ll be able to drive into the city to catch a show, go to a club, see a movie, see a musical, go to a museum, go to a coffee shop, see a concert, or do whatever else is going on in Seattle. From what I hear, there’s always something to do. And there are actually young people there. People my age. You see, I live in a small town called Spokane (Population: about 200,000). There is hardly anything to do. Sure, we have movie theaters, a mall, parks, and a downtown, but there is nothing going on. There are a few cool city events that happen annually, but nothing like Seattle. I’m so excited. Spokane has hardly anything to do for young people (16-25). There’s hardly anything to do for older people.
If anyone has or is living in Seattle, please tell me more about it. What are great places to go to? What is it like? What is unique about Seattle? Why do you live there? If there’s anything else you want to tell me about Seattle, please do. Soon enough, this goal will be history…
...on what I will be doing in a few years. I will probably either go to Washington State University in Pullman or University of Washington in Seattle. The more I think about Seattle though, the more I cringe at the idea. The thought of being around people 24/7 is something that will take a little getting used to. But college will be people 24/7, no matter where I go. I’m not sure.
I want to experience big city living. I’ve lived in Tucson, AZ for most of my life (500,000 people) and I currently live in Spokane, Wa (200,000 people). I’ve never lived in a city where there are suburbs outside of the city. I’m looking into applying for University of Washington in Seattle durig my senior year. Also, I have a better chance of getting a great Civil Engineering job in a large metropolitan area.
