just have to wait for that dreaded DADT to get removed, and then I will dedicate a good portion of my life to helping our soldiers that are in danger’s way.
I just don’t understand why it’s such a big deal to be gay. I mean, I already have a long-term girlfriend who I love. I’m not using the military as a dating service. But I do have a sense of pride in my country and want to help the men and women who put their lives in danger to help eradicate extremism in the Middle East. I have lots of friends who either have already served in Iraq or Afghanistan or are currently serving. I would want nothing but the best for them as far as medical services go, but I know that’s not the case.
I want to be commissioned for the medical services, and I’m smart and capable, so hopefully they will take this stupid ban away and let me help them. I mean, they NEED the help. They offer $20,000 sign on bonus for the medical corps. I would gladly do it for free, if discrimination against gay Americans were not a law.
Here’s to hoping that DADT changes soon, for the troops sake and for the sake of gays who take great pride in their country.
