become fluent in as many languages as possible

That I’m conversational in Italian. Not fluent fluent by any means, but I can get by and I understand what people say to me for the most part. My French is much better than my Italian, but at least I can put sentences and phrases together.

Speaking more and more Italian. Understand almost everything. Not quite everything, but a lot.

By the time we leave, I’ll speak just fine. I’m sure of it.

We are moving to Italy. This will mean, of course, that I will learn Italian.

that is more Spanish speaking than English speaking. Okay, that’s an exaggeration, but more than half the staff speaks Spanish and I hear it all the time and I understand a lot of it! Wee! So one of the bartenders told me (in Spanish) that he was going to teach me Spanish as long as I taught him French.

Plus I randomly speak to myself in my limited German. Man, I need to take a class. Some classes. Right.

I might also consider starting
Italian

After I’ve got my romance languages and German down, I’ll need to start an Asian language. It’s a toss up between Japanese and Chinese. Probably should learn Chinese since there are more Chinese people in the world… but I’m leaning towards Japanese because I’d like to live there at some point. I think. Right.

So in, let’s say, 10 years, I might just be able to speak:

Spanish
Italian
German
Japanese
Chinese

That’d be cool. Hmmm… I’ve got some work to do…
