What phone situation?

everything’s under control here:
- answering machine has been clogged with messages and not taking any more. (since before Christmas.)
- there’s only one phone plugged in anywhere and it’s so static-y it’s painful to use for more than a few minutes, but it works, at least until Skinnybones chews on another cord.
- there are four identical beige phones tucked patiently under the edge of a livingroom chair. since I set this goal I dug them out of storage and tested them , and now they’re labeled. two work fine. the other two also work, except their ringers are silent, making them perfect for bedroom and (ahem) writing room.
- there are two cordless phones also tucked behind the armchair. there are two reasons they don’t work: 1) they’re out of charge, and 2)the base units are also under the chair, instead of being plugged in somewhere
- there are two cell phones which are usually stuffed into my pockets, but are now in their chargers my work place. each has its own separate issue. the first is being retired. All I have to do is call the provider to let them know. I suppose I should check and see if B wants to keep it. The second is a work cellphone. no one has its number yet except my boss. it demands a password to get voice messages, and we don’t have the password.
Next steps:
plug in and charge up the two cordless phones.
put away the beige phones.
put H to work on the one cell and ask B about the other.
clean out the answering machine. let go of the crazy past.
