What on Earth is 'healthy'?!!! 17 months ago

I ate a banana & some ‘unreal coffee’ (with gluten though – hmm…) & a wee bit of milk…
I still don’t know if milk & gluten (& fruit/any type of sugars) are actually bad for me, or not!! arrgh!!
*doubting the anti-candida diet *, somewhat!!
But fact is I usually felt better when I’d stick to it!!
(if I didn’t go overboard with other nutrients & become sensitive to those! Ah well… :)/

Had some amaranth (yummy! but watch out for the hard bits between the teeth – may unexpectedly pop up!!)... wee bit of hemp seeds (they were good today too!) & tahini – & well, PC is well known to distract (& help not eat proper!! ugh)

Then, yummy lettuce salad with a mixture of leftover beans & stuff… in several incarnations… lol
& 2 fried eggs & such…

I felt slightly sucky because of not eating proper!! or, ‘enough’ – lol I was feeling very unimaginative about ‘what to cook’!! (& yes, dark chocolate was included! lol)
*must get back on track * – with menu planning & all!! (It’s difficult, cause Life is still slightly unpredictable around here, but still!! :))



Food Journal - YAY!! 22 months ago

I do keep a food journal now… Offline though, as the net has been slightly unpredictable lately… ;)

I am also keeping an activity journal, so I’ll be able to link my wellbeing (or lack of it) to both food & daily activities!!



Planning Is Crucial!! Go RICE!! 22 months ago

I can’t really do much or dare to cook myself lately, so experimenting with things like a gluten-free diet can be a little hard!!

Maybe I could just make sure there’s rice cooked every day? & add vegetable side dishes/salads?
For lunch, eat what everybody’s having – rice is usually 1x a week only!

Today, I was forced to eat bread (with delicious hazelnut spread, yum – MUCH better than Nutella!!) again – due to poor planning/advance preparation!!

& as a consequence of being hungry after homeopathic quantities of buckwheat noodles (yup, Sis cooked again!), & eating a bit too late, when I was already too hungry, I ate dark chocolate again too!! (& counteracted it with salt sticks! LOL Junky!! & So yummy – But I don’t think it’s helping my back any!) I ate too much >> some – ‘too much’ – acid & am hopefully cured of the desire now!! ;)



Food Journal-? & Gluten-Free Food!!/No Bread. But What to Eat Instead? 22 months ago

I want to start a food journal.

I got inspired to do it online – but where? I’m not fully vegetarian/vegan, but I’m moving in that direction!!

Also, I got inspired to try gluten-free food – a LVJ friend said it helped her past injury heal better!!

Anyway, I definitely want to EAT LESS BREAD.
(It is wholewheat/rye, but I still eat definitely too much!!)

So any suggestions what to eat instead greatly appreciated!!

I love the rice puffs, but they are not Zero Waste.
I prefer not to bother too much with cooking, so simple stuff appreciated!
I already thought of/Googled up tortilla-ish stuff (with maize) & polenta.

I eat oatmeal/muesli for breakfast but am not 100% sure about it either. (Still accepting suggestions.;)

I don’t dare eat too much (especially sweet) fruit/sweets due to suspected candidiasis.

I would like to eat less bread.

I have no idea what to eat for breakfast, so sometimes I eat very little (oatmeal or such), or just skip it.
I find ‘true energy’ comes to me after lunch.

A woman who wrote a book on Candidiasis said they eat ‘lunch’ (eg rice+veggies) for breakfast at her house. I’d like to try something like that, but not sure what my Granny or my folks at home might say. Also, most leftovers get eaten for supper. OoO

I might try it for the next week though, & experiment.
I had leftover food for the next morning before & didn’t want to eat it, so not all food would be right…
Maybe I could brainstorm…

Also, I would like to start planning meals again, weekly. Cause I really hate being asked, ‘What shall we eat?’ barely alive before breakfast!
