It’s a beautiful drive and I’ve done it a million times. I’ve been there in the snow, in the rain, at sunset and in the middle of the night. And because of its name, I just really want to be there at sunrise. Just so I can say that I was. :D
There are several lookout points with great views to the east that overlook the entire Imperial Valley. I bet a sunrise there would be spectacular.
