Some progress!

There’s a few things that need to happen before I embark on this project, and a major one just happened.
Specifically, I acquired a 750 Gig external drive where I dumped all of my music. There, I’m organizing it into a file structure that makes sense.
I’ve also picked out an app (EasyTAG) that I think will do the job quite well.
Onwards…

I’ve been collecting mp3s since about 1999. I have upwards of 120 BG of music. I love music.
So it only makes sense that I’d desire an iPod. I have voiced this desire on several occasions.
Last Christmas, I was given an iPod. Yay!
But see, here’s the thing. iPods are very ID3 tag centric. They don’t read or display filenames. Back in ‘99, few people cared about tags, and all I’ve ever concentrated on was keeping my filenames clear and accurate. I’ve never EVER cared about tags. Especially since I deal with a lot of music in other languages, whose tags often don’t display in their correct characters due to keyboard differences.
But now, in order to enjoy my iPod, I have to get my tags in order. All 120+ GB of them.
Sigh.
