“I’m a vegetarian.” I say it now. It just means I don’t get to share breakfast with the cooks on the weekends, since you can’t pick meat out of chorizo eggs.
My 17 prior years of vegetarianism weren’t like this. I didn’t have reasons for not eating meat. And now I do. Now I get the line, “Meat is Murder.” Now I understand that yeah, it is. I think animals are amazing and I don’t want to contribute to another beings death.
It does weird me out that the vegetarian products are flavored like meat, though. Shouldn’t I not want to eat something that takes like the thing I’m trying to avoid? I wonder that as I eat cold fake ground beef. Thank god for flavorless tofu.
