watch more foreign films

Movie wasn’t that great for me, but I looooooove Daniel Bruhl!

This was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the recent Academy Awards.

A definite must-see, even if you’re not a big fan of war movies (neither am I). It’s not the usual good vs. evil conflict that most war movies tend to have as a plot, but neither is it a feel-good movie. The brutality of war is all too present in the movie, yet, at the end it doesn’t leave you feeling helpless and depressed about what the world is coming to. It’s nice to see that even in a time of war, some people laid aside their differences (and rifles) to celebrate a shared holiday—the birth of the Lord.

I watched this movie today. I didn’t think you could mix horror with comedy before seeing this film. Typically Jean-Pierre Jeunet. I should’ve seen this before seeing Amelie. I would’ve gotten a kick seeing Dominique Pinon turn from nice mellow guy to obsessive boyfriend.

I’m watching this tonight. I was amazed when I found this in my local video store as it usually doesn’t carry a lot of foreign films.

I concur with the others about Netflix. The local video rentals store just doesn’t have enough foreign films.
