I think I am getting better at this. I still used a lot of ‘scuzi’ in Italy. But in general, I’m getting a lot better at standing up for myself. Now when I get into a quarrel with someone, I don’t automatically turn the blame on myself and feel like I have to fix things.
Leaving this on for a little while longer, but well on the way.

It is such an automatic response for me to say sorry when I bump into someone or something of the sort, while most of the time it’s them bumping in to me. In some respect I don’t mind me saying sorry, in the sense that if both parties say sorry it’s just polite. The problem is that sometimes other people aren’t polite and because I said sorry it’s then suddenly my fault.
The politics of saying sorry. Difficult stuff.
