Someone walked around my property with me last week and we made a wonderful discovery – a Fringetree, Chionanthus virginicus – growing on my lake shore. This photo isn’t my tree, but it looks just like it. I was so happy!

A friend helped me on Saturday and we found some really cool plants including Ironweed, Skullcap, and a native lily. Don’t you just love these common names? We also identified new tree species and confirmed the identification of some non-native trees & shrubs that I can now remove with confidence. This is really fun.
