This book was excellent. I couldn’t put it down and finished in 8 days – today. With the mix of mystery, family drama, and the different personalities of the characters, I was always curious of what was coming next. Even though Alexei never really said much, when he did, his few words spoke volumes. He really was an angel like everyone said – such a sweetheart. He made such a difference in the outcome of the book. I could see why Alexei’s known as the hero. He said to Ivan, “I think that everyone should love life before everything else in the world.” I won’t ever forget that quote. Russian literature truly is amazing!
