I'm split on this one 3 years ago

Half of me wants to dump this goal. I want it to happen, but I don’t think it’s something I can make happen so I wonder if it makes sense to keep it as a goal.
The other half of me is debating whether or not to really give the online dating scene a really good shot for like a year. If something doesn’t materalize online within a year I would probably can that idea. Let me back track for a minute, the reason I want to do the online dating is because I don’t have many opportunities to meet anyone in person. Plus I don’t really think I will find what I am looking for in my everyday life.
