Be more active in my family business

I was never interested in joining my family business. It was nowhere near what I wanted to do with my life, and I made that quite clear. Then college came and went, during a very bad time in the job market field. And the field I wanted to be in required A LOT more schooling, that i just wasn’t ready to go through (after disappointing myself greatly during my undergrad). I was scared I’d never be good at what I wanted to do—so I took the easy way out. I agreed to work for my family. And I have tried hard to work hard, and put more initiative and responsibility in my work. However, I still can’t seem to get past the fact that this was not what I had set out to do. Thus I hold myself back from taking on more responsibility. But I feel like I’m disappointing my family at the same time…and I don’t want to do that anymore.
