This is being drastically shortened, for cost and time reasons. The trip will now be a week in Morocco, a week in Egypt, and two to three weeks in India.
ArmyAngel1986 has written 3 entries about this goal
1. Determine if the countries we’ve decided on are final.
2. Determine visa requirements, if any.
3. Determine the length of stay in each country.
4. Find hostel (and prices) for Egypt/Asia part of the tour.
5. Find campsites for CA/SA part, with back-up hostels.
6. Determine means of travel between countries.
7. Determine average costs of plane tickets.
8. Make list of supplies to bring.
I’m sure I’ve left something off, but this is definitely a good start.
My friend graduates from college fall 2011, so here’s the plan:
Part 1. January 2012-July 2012: Morocco desert camel tour, train ride to Egypt for the pyramids, fly to India and start backpacking through Asia, and make our way down to Australia/New Zealand.
Go home and rest for a month or so, and then…
Part 2. September 2012-March 2013: Backpack down through Mexico, see Central America, go down one coast of South America and up the other. When we reach Venezuela, start island-hopping and follow the curve of the islands to Honduras, where we’ll see the couple of Central American countries we missed on the first pass and work our way back up through Mexico, to home.
I love being unattached!
