12 areas to pack and 9 weekends in which to do so.
Yikes.

There are empty and partially packed boxes…....... EVERYWHERE!
And it is really depressing. I can’t seem to motivate my self to do ANYTHING around the house.

hire help!
A co-worker’s son is coming over Saturday afternoon to help me with “things up high”. Everything that involves a ladder. Soooooooo much easier to have someone to hand things down to, rather than climbing up a ladder, getting an item, climbing down said ladder to set item down and back up the ladder for the next item.
This should also create complete chaos in the house with items set everywhere awaiting packing. Plenty to do on weekends and holidays now.

putting this off. Even though I have been home on a staycation and one would think I would have been really productive around the house with this time.
I wanted to pack all the paintings up. I did take one into my office yesterday, which is just as good as packing it. The others are in process of being carted downstairs where they are one story closer to being packed.
Clearly, I am kinda a sloth. (This is not a sentence for my complement journal!)

Yet, again, on tomorrow’s holiday, I will pack a few things. Try to keep site of the goal of moving. Keep believing my house will soon sell. I am tired of living in a non-house. A mostly packed house. However, this kinda thing is like the first rule of hitchhiking: Always Forward, never back.

I worked on the stuff that came in the house today.
I cut down a mattress box and packed paintings and a mirror.
I went through a box that had files from 1998-1999. So much paper! Yay! For modern online banking and bill paying.
I went though another box and all of it got put in the box for goodwill.
After all the work that was done in the garage this morning I am beat! I’ll do more tomorrow.

That 20 year old did, in two hours, what would have taken me two months to do. As if I even could! All the packed boxes are completely stacked floor to ceiling on the side of the garage. The boxes I still need to go through are now stacked where I can get to them. The car actually fits in the garage again! Woo Whoooooooo!
The inside of the house is a bit of a mess. I had the packing boxes and packing paper brought in. I am going to use the mattress boxes to pack paintings in and then cut them to size. Still lots of work to do around here to be able to move. But…...... no offer on the house as of yet, so, no worries. Plenty of time to get this done.

A co-worker’s so is coming over in an hour or so to help me with the boxes in the garage. The ones that are packed need to be stacked up higher and out of the way.
The section of the garage that has boxes I have not gone through need to be brought down to the floor where I can sort through them and repack, ideally with half of the items going to goodwill.
I am hoping that if all goes well I will be able to park in the garage again. Street parking is tight here. Someone actually bumped into my car hard enough to leave the impression of their license plate bolts in the bumper of my car. So Sad.

don’t do this to myself. Pay someone to pack me. By the time I count the cost of my vacation days taken, how inefficient I am and such, it really is probably cheaper in the long run.
