Good Things About Today, 2012, The Year of Freedom

I woke up this morning and in the grogginess of my mind it said this next year is the year of letting go. It seems so appropriate in many ways. Letting go. Moving on.

This year was The Year of Freedom. When the year started I didn’t know I would have a six week road trip with my nephew and the event that would happen on that trip.

There are many, many different types of Freedom. There are many, many different types of letting go.

I have an offer on my house today. It is a pretty darn good offer, really. Of course I will try to better the offer, because “never leave money on the table”. But, as is, it is a darn good offer.

My nephew telephoned me to wish me happy new year and to tell me several times that he loves me. Now that my computer is fixed I can skype again. We agreed when he would be back in Genoa and we could skype with the family. How nice was that?

Both events area a really great way to end the year of freedom and begin the year of letting go.

I took a nap today! How luxurious is that? (even though I haven’t been feeling well the last couple of days, it still seems really luxurious.)

I spent the day reading and otherwise doing nothing much at all. It was lovely.

Really nice and fun texts from The Artist today. Really nice evening with him too.

I can tell I would have no trouble being retired. The long lazy days are so comfortable.

Yippee! It’s Friday. The beginning of yet another four day weekend.

I love how beautiful everything is this time of year. The hills are green. The animals seem especially peaceful as they graze or play or lollygag about.

I’m content to cozy in at home.

A very quiet day at work.

A staff member came in to work with her six year old daughter. I had her colour the colouring my Mom did when she was 4 years old. A goose and a dog. It’s nice to have both on my wall.

I love seeing the field of sheep when I drive to work.

Its nice to be home.

I was ( finally ) productive with paperwork. Funny how a dead laptop increases my productivity!

Sleeping in was lovely

Miss Lily Belle opening her gifts was fun.

Watching more of season 2 of Lost was cozy

Having a couple of merry christmas emails was nice.

Writing some Christmas Cards made it feel like the holidays.

The rain was good as it made me want to stay inside

It was really wonderful that a couple of (too) far away friends sent Merry Christmas texts and emails. It made me feel really, really good. It’s really nice that someone stopped among all the Christmas Eve time with family and friends to think of ME.

A guy had invited me to go to a movie today, but cancelled last minute, as is somewhat his habit. I took myself to a movie any way. The cashier rang up my popcorn and lemonade for a total of $10.50. I laid $11 on the counter. The man behind me said “take your bill back” as he put down 50 cents. “This will save me from having to carry change.” It was nice. It’s so rare a stranger reaches out to do a kindness like that for me.

It’s another quiet, cozy rainy day. Laundry (almost done) a gift bought for The Actor as we will have our Christmas in a couple of weeks.

It was a pouring down crazy kinda day. Perfect for watching the Series LOST on dvd. And taking a long nap. And then watching more dvds.
