crochet a blanket

...for niece #2! This time, I’ve chosen a rich purple yarn called, “Sultana”. I’ll be using the same ripple-pattern as before, which may be boring at times, but I can also go onto “automatic” while I crochet it, which is kind of comforting.

I finally finished my eldest niece’s blanket, about a month ago. I was sure slow… but am proud of the results.

Now, I have to make another one for my youngest niece…

which makes for over 50” of blanket-length now. I didn’t get back to it for the longest time, but lately I’ve been re-inspired. I guess I’m over two-thirds of the way to the finish line! I enjoy crocheting; but I’ll be glad when it’s time to begin a new project, since this pattern is a little bit tedious.

I let this goal slide. On a hot day, the last thing I wanted was a warm afghan across my lap! Now that the cooler fall weather has settled in, I will get back to this.

I’m at 31” of afghan now. Slow but steady!

and it’s 50” wide; it’s sort of like a “lapghan” right now. Considering I am as slow as molasses, I am very pleased with this progress. About 1/3 of the way there!

Up to row 12 on my blanket and counting…
I’m very pleased with the ripple pattern I chose;it is simple but looks quite fancy.

I’m up to row three of my blanket…I have a disability in my hands (some withered muscles) so I’m probably a little slower than some, but so far everything is looking alright. It feels good to be doing a craft again.

It’s been a long time since I tried basic crocheting, I’m having to relearn. Today I got started on a simple ripple-pattern afghan that seems to use only double crochet stitches, so far it looks half-decent.
I really want to make some sweet things for the hopechests of my two little nieces.
