My hands wont let me... 3 years ago

I’d say I was a fairly decent sketch artist and can draw pretty good but I tried painting about a month ago and I was atrocious…I can’t seem to get the same energy in painting than I can with drawing let alone my paintings looking like I’d done them blindfold (I’ve drawn with my eyes closed and done better)...Where am I going wrong?
