In fact it is the only goal I have for myself that is really long term. I sometimes forget about it, and with strugglin to finish the degree I have no interest in, it has been tough. But I know I really want to go, and teach and explore. I was talking to my friend that lives there last night and he really helped to refocus.
He reminded me that once I am here I am going to have a million oppurtunites, and a lot chances to study all those things I wanted to learn here but were canceled. I can study Asia, in Asia and likely get the scholarships to do so. With my degree I can get a job as long as my average is decent. I know I can have a few excellent reference letters as well.
I guess sometimes I feel lost since I don’t have much encouragement. My degree has felt more like I have to get it because its expected of me. Also, quite a few people think I am crazy for wanting to teach in Asia and keep asking me why. They just don’t get it what I see in it. But oh well.
I just got to keep focused because by July 2011 I could be there, or about to go. And I really want that to come true, so I really need to work harded and stay focused. This past month I haven’t been really focused so its time I put more focus on this goal and get going.
I am really blessed to have the support and knowledge of my friend in Taiwan. I was lucky to meet him at my University in the first place and have his friendship. With his tips and hints and information about life in Taiwan and the websites he has been giving me lately I hope I can remember why I am doing all this in the first place. I know once I am there him and his wife will help me sort all of the small things, so I just got to focus on the journey!
