Sub-Goal: stop listening to other people's "truth" 4 years ago

A while ago, maybe when I was like 10 or 11, my mom told I didn’t like to dance. That I wasn’t good at it, that I wasn’t coordinated, I had no rhythm. You’re thinking “who says such awful things to a kid, really???” But she said it in a laughing jokey kind of way, like “oh you silly girly, look how funny you look dancing!!! LIke a deaf elephant!! You’re so cute in your failing attempts to dance, aww!!” And since she was my mother, I listened to her and believed her. Here’s the secret tho—I’ve been thinking about it, and I believe I really can dance. Maybe not great, but pretty freaking good at the very least. My mom just wanted to make me as scared of everything as she is. So maybe I’ll try it, and as much as I love her, my mom will just have ot be afraid by herself.
