Out of sheer boredom, I decided to attempt my entire yoga dvd, instead of doing just the sun saluations and maybe the ab part at the end. I did 40 minutes, the entire Power Yoga 1 dvd, and while I fudged a teeny portion of the standing sequence (my left hip cramped up and threatened to pitch me face first into my desk), I managed to do every pose. I think I’ll do the whole run thruonly once or twice a week for now. I am very proud and very sweaty. Excuse me while i go melt in the corner

I have to admit my setbacks as well as my successes, so I regretfully admit that this past week, i seem to have lost my yoga motivation. The excuses include: the heat, the muggy humidity ( we shun central air in my house, ack), my incessant mostly dormant headache that threatens to spring foreward full force if I try to exert myself recreationally, and my wonked out schedule for this week. But tomorrow is a new day, and I will be back on the wagon for this coming week.
Does losing count of how many times I’ve done this count as the beginning of a habit? How about the fact that it only took 30 seconds to talk myself into it this morning? Sun salutations and abs
I can almost put my heels all the way down during downward dog!!!
SKipped yesterday, did sun salutations just now and totally got rid of my cramps. Amazing.
Sun salutations this morning. I figure if i can keep this up for 2 more weeks, it will be a semi-solidified habit, at which point I think I’ll be comfortable adding longer sessions with more asanas.
Sun salutations today and Thursday morning: that makes either 4 or 5 times this week, i can’t remember if i did it Tuesday a.m. Either way, it’s better than nothing, and something to build on next week :)
Got up early and did Sun Salutations, second day in a row. And even before having a cup of coffee, i might add!!!! Borders on miraculous.
It’s the first really hot day of the year, I’m totally cranky and unbalanced, so I decided to try the Baron Baptiste level 1 dvd my boyfriend found for me. I figure, I’m already sweating and I need an attitude adjustment, it’s either that or go throw a tantrum until someone breaks and turns the AC on. Holy moly, I think I may love it (the DVD, not the sweltering hell-heat). Inspite of the irritating facts that the dogs were barking and my mom was interrupting me to ask unnecessary questions through my closed bedroom door, I feel a little better. In fact, I have a bizarre drive to speak all calm and surfer-ish and zen-ned out right now, like a very sweaty disheveled female Keanu Reeves. Like, whoa.
