not very well and pretty much only scarves but still – i’m on my way. I’m going to try scarf after scarf till I get better then hopefully take the second knitting class and learn the pearl stitch and some other cool things.
I’v been knitting all day and my fingers are sooo cramped up but I love it.

I signed up for a beginning knitting class at Knitty City, a local knitting store. I figure if I can’t learn after 2 hours of instruction then knitting is just not for me. Class is nov 7th! Very excited

The kit that I had bought to learn how to knit was easily put: just too hard for me. I found myself trying to turn the instructions every direction just to see if I was missing something. So…
After a little research I’ve found a place in New York that is just a long walk from my apartment and offers beginning knitting classes for just $30. I’m hoping that with an instructor I’ll be able to get this checked off. The class I’ll be taking is Nov 7th.
Also they knitting store that offers the classes does a knit for charity night each week and will deliver whatever you make to different charities! Seems too perfect.

my attempts are pretty pathetic. I think I may need to take a class or something.

a learn how to knit kit and part of the proceeds go to the Komen foundation. the kit gives you guidance on how to make a scarf. That will be my first project and then hopefully after some practice I can begin knitting sweaters.

I think that learning to knit this month with be my learn something new for the month of January! I guess I just need: yarn, knitting needles, patterns and some patience…
