Where is the “I want to do this again” button? I got rid of this goal prematurely…..
EDIT: Oh Goody! I found a way to add it again.
I won’t be posting photos of my drawings as I have no way to do that. But I still want to play.

I just completed number one.
Number one was/is entitled “Introduction”.
I didn’t have anything in mind for a subject. I just sat down and started to draw. By the time I was done I had used drawing pencil, colored pencils, pens, crayons and pastels. What I ended up drawing was this:
A woman with long, flowing golden hair (imagine that, that’s a stretch, eh? LOL) and she is wearing a long flowy, drapey blue gown with bell sleeves. I wanted the gown to drape just so, so as not to appear “baggy”, so I spent time on it, and in trying to make her figure under the gown accentuated by the drape, the curve of her arms, the thigh and knee underneath as she strides forward. She is standing side too, and wings and feathers are growing out of her back and thru her hair (NO—this was NOT inspired by the Grow Wings goal! LOL) I colored the wings the same colors as in a Falcons wings….browns, beiges, whites…hints of blue and gold, smudged in, as I used pastels and colored pencils on the wings. She is holding her arms out and her hands are open. Hands are hard to do! I spent a lot of time on them. And they’re not even detailed, I just wanted to depict them as offering something. From her hands I drew spiral after spiral after spiral, in varying lengths and colors, flowing off in all directions, but out in front of her. Then…I thought I was done…..but just kept drawing, and out beyond the magic spirals grew hearts and flames….hearts IN flames. LOL. Well, that was my intent; hearts on fire, to symbolize passion. But they ended up looking more like hearts enshrined in pieces of amber. Ha!! Which was OK by me as I love amber….so I put in a few lil bugs for good measure. (If you have seen many pieces of amber, sometimes there’s lil fossilized bugs in it, preserved for posterity, by this formidable, gorgeous, primal and ancient, most exquisite of preserving mediums.) I am not going to spend much time psychoanalyzing it, but aspects of it are clearly autobiographical. I do feel like a woman with wings….I do feel like I live in a world of and create and spread magic….I do often feel like my heart is on fire in the best possible way…..Hmmmm….but I don’t feel like a bug stuck in amber, even though amber is one of my favorite gems. I attribute that aspect to the fact that I was unable to render the flaming hearts in the way I saw them in my head. Fire is hard to draw too.
I was pleased with my effort and the result. Especially with the figure of the woman; she came out really well.
This is fun! Thanks to Wren for making me aware of the goal.
EDIT: I think for future drawings in this series, I will attempt to have a subject in mind, but for INTRODUCTION I thought it was appropriate to just draw whatever came to mind…...how are the rest of you doing it? Literally, figuratively, metaphorically, etc?
I see oodles of doodles in my immediate future…...pen & ink, pencil, crayon, colored pencils…..swwwwooooonnnn…..yippee! I already kind of do this a lot anyway, perhaps a goal, some direction will inspire me further & lead me down other creative avenues. (Not my doodle posted here btw…I have no camera at present, not one that works anyway…so I’ll be unable to post my doodles, but that’s ok, it’s the doodling that’s important…)
